My dad would read The Hobbit out loud as my bedtime story and spin his own stories about the adventures Bilbo and I would go on. This was the start of my love affair with storytelling, and for as long as I can remember, I have wanted to spend my life around words.
Fast forward several years, and I haven’t stopped storytelling ever since. I’m currently working as a marketing communications professional in higher education, as well as a freelance writer and editor. I also have several years of agency experience as a copywriter, writing marketing strategies, creative copy, marketing materials, and websites for clients in numerous industries, including nonprofit, higher education, hospitality, and residential and commercial real estate. I also recently earned a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Simmons University.
I’m passionate about helping connect people with the information they need, whether that’s by crafting clever words for website copy, helping students navigate a tricky writing assignment, or matching a reader with the right book for the right moment. I am currently seeking creative opportunities in marketing and communications roles, publishing, higher education, and libraries.
I know it may seem like an uncommon combo, a copywriter with a library degree. But it really all comes down to the power of words, whether in books or on a screen. I believe that words can bring people together. Make you feel seen and heard and understood. Inspire you, educate you, challenge you, heal you. Connect you to something greater than yourself. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what we’re all searching for?
When I’m not writing, researching, or reading, you can find me honing my plant mom skills in my garden, learning how to bake gluten-free bread, or daydreaming of my next travel destination. I’m a firm believer in the Oxford comma, that shoes are overrated, that the ocean is the cure for all things, and that everything is a salad if you try hard enough.
